What I Do

My Services

I proofread and edit business documents such as ads, brochures, newsletters, catalogs, white papers, reports, manuals, press releases, PowerPoint presentations, and other marketing materials.

Do you have a book, magazine, or script? I can help you with that as well.

I also proofread websites. Proofreading a website or an e-newsletter for errors is equally important as proofreading for print. I will make sure your site is consistent and free from errors, and all the links and attachments work.

Your document’s security is extremely important. All proprietary information is confidential and secure.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the final stage of editing to be completed just before publication or online posting. It ensures no errors are in the final document, formatting is correct, and all included URL links work.

$40.00/hr. (one hour minimum)

File formats accepted: Word .doc or .docx (preferred), PDF, PowerPoint, Google Docs or Google Slides.

Copyediting

Copyediting is concerned with all things mechanical, such as correcting grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Copyediting also includes checking for internal consistency of facts and document style.

$45.00-$65.00/hr. (depending on technicality*)
* Highly technical projects or medical projects will be charged a slightly higher rate.

Websites

Websites need to be as polished and error-free as your printed materials. Proofreading a website also includes making sure your links work and your style and information are consistent.

$50.00-$75.00/hr. (depending on technicality*)

Style Guides and Dictionaries

I recommend The Associated Press Stylebook for most marketing materials and The Chicago Manual of Style for longer works such as books. I will work with your house style guides as well. Unless otherwise discussed, I use the Merriam-Webster Dictionary and Google for reference.
